What is the Spirit of a Woman?

She and her publisher are now accepting short stories, descriptions, quips and quotes on what you believe to be the Spirit of a Woman.


Reneé Rongen, a published author and internationally known Keynote Speaker is currently accepting stories from women and men for her new book describing the Spirit of a Woman. This book will be an inspirational gift book and artists will provide illustrations to your words.

Please provide short stories (750 words or less) and or descriptions of what you believe to be the Spirit of a Woman. (Submission form below.) Descriptions, stories, quips, and quotes must be original, unpublished thoughts. The more descriptive your submission, the more likely it will be chosen for inclusion in the book. Your examples can be poignant, profound and/or funny. Here are sample descriptions and there are no limits to word choices that describe what you believe is the Spirit of a Woman.

If your story is chosen, you will be a published author and your bio will be printed in the book if desired. You will also receive a check for $25 and 5 free copies of your book, valued at more than $100. You will retain the copyright for your story/description and the right to resell it.

A woman who rises in the morning, walks past the mirror and sees her rippled cellulite thighs, ratty hair, wrinkles, and smiles back at her reflection saying to herself…I’m beautiful and it is going to be a FABULOUSLY FANTASTIC day!

One day I popped in unannounced on a writer friend of mine. When she answered the door, she had on her 2-piece, pink pajamas accompanied by her bunny slippers even though it was almost noon. After quickly observing her outfit I teased her, “Do you know that you have your pj’s inside out?” “I know that,” she answered. “The soft, fuzzy side is now on the inside. Why wear them any other way?” I had to agree.

Every other Sunday night my friend and I worked at the homeless shelter passing out pillows and blankets at bedtime and making breakfast in the morning for the 30 men that stayed each night. We tried to help with the clients’ needs in whatever they requested. Very quietly and with a gentle touch, I watched her as she offered help with sore feet. She was God’s hands touching each broken soul and bandaging more than their toes, but their weary hearts
